Well today I had to go replace my Rancho RS9000x's for the THIRD time. Luckily they have the lifetime free replacement warranty.
Maybe I'm just unlucky. My OEMs lasted through my first Baja trip with no problems. I decided to go Rancho since I heard they're good shocks. My second Baja trip fried my Ranchos within the first few days. I came back, got new ones and fried those within 6 months. Today I threw on my third pair of Ranchos in 18 months.
The guy at 4WP was amazed how soft the shocks were. I did however notice that lots of crud and dirt had built up within the shock boot, so this time I am running them can-down with no boot. This way, I can easily hose the crud off. Hopefully this will result in the shocks lasting just a wee bit longer than one Baja trip!
I'm also talking to Fox Racing and Bilstein in hopes of finding a suitable reservoir shock for our Pathfinders, if anyone is interested. They'll likely run roughly $200 each, but they've been torture tested, so will likely last longer than the Ranchos.

I know Rancho said the 9000x could be run upside down, but it has made all the difference in the world running those dudes knob down for me.

I ran my replacements knob up for 2 months, then reversed them. I don't know if it was an improvement or not, but if it helps them last, I'll go with it.

my adjustable ranchos are a piece of crap, right now the lower bushings on both sides are almost non existant, and now I got a really bad sway so it wasnt the bushings on the LCA's, wasted 110$ there.

Bilstein has shocks for the Xterra I wonder if they will fit well with our truck.

The model number is on the boxes my shocks came in.
However to get the measurements I went outside and took one off the truck They are exactly the same as the stock ones????
360mm compressed and 585mm extended (about 14 and 23 inches)
Truck is fitted with a 2 inch lift kit from the TJM catalog
check the attatchment and photos
This is a bit of a surprise as It was all fitted by the TJM agents here. I am not sure how much of this range is used. but I may go and jack the truck up tonight, or does anybody already know this??

Kiwi, Nice pics! Looks like you need a snorkel, any luck finding one that fits the R50 down there? I've had no luck here. If you do come across one, I'd be very very interested in knowing!
