      #602396 - 10/09/09 02:21 AM Attachment (22 downloads)

I have a 2000 Nissan Frontier Desert Runner XE. the drivers side door lock only works about half the time (the key wont turn) but works fine on the passinger side. any ideas? i was thinking maybe the tumblers are worn.

is there a key fob involved here or is it all manual?

if manual

my 98 has the same problem but i found that when i put the key in and i turn it the wrong way first then turn it the right way it works everytime.

its an extra step to unlock the truck but it only takes less then a second to get in and now its habit.

I'm not sure about the late model nissan's. All of the d21's and d22's have a plastic part that breaks and the effect is similar. I think the part cost me a buck or so at Nissan. Take the door apart and I'm sure you'll find your grimlin in the keyed area.

ok heres a question, 2000 nissan CC 4x4.
key works in driver door but not in passenger door.
key fob is not used anymore because it continually on its own locks and unlocks, arms and disarms the factory alarm.
This typical for these trucks?

Mine does the same thing with the passenger side.

I never fixed it just I just deal with it.

i had the same problem for a while. worked its way out after a few months. every blue moon it sticks though. mostly in cold weather. i might need some graphite for my house door soon though. it's really getting to be a pain to even insert the key!
