the temp sensor is the only way forthe ecu to know if the engine is at operating temp, so it can lean the mix.

oh crud I didn't see any replies on my post until now =/ yea, gas gauge, same exact thing the 3/4 gig then accurate, but its become more and more inaccurate over time. as for the temp gauge, don't think it can mess with the mixture. theres two sensors in the neck on the coolant hose, and I believe the gauge is attached to a dedicated sensor. My problem will be remedied soon b/c I have a new sender that came with my new Gauge which will go on my A-pillar along with the new oil press gauge, voltmeter, boost, oil temp, and 5 " tach . My front view is quite crowded now to say the least. =)

Yep, the temp gauge has it's own sensor that is seperate from the one for the ECU. The ECU dosen't know or care what the gauge is showing.

That said, on the 86.5-92 HB and Pathys, there is a voltage regulator mounted to the back of the gauge cluster that is known to have failure problems. It affects the temp and fuel readings when it goes bad.
