Try some high temp RTV along with new exhaust manifold gaskets for that tick, my 87 had a similar noise and that fixed it right up.

I'm going to do that and gets some new studs as well, when I changed the gaskets on my 89 a couple studs broke and I had a heck of a time getting them out.
